Dr. Sascha Drewlo, PhD

A leader in his field, Dr. Drewlo has pioneered and patented several techniques related to the isolation and purification of placenta-derived trophoblast cells within the cervix in early pregnancy. The risk-free collection of these cells (similar to a Pap test) has the potential to make a wide range of genetic diagnoses safely and earlier than ever before – as early as five weeks of gestation compared to the current standard of twelve weeks, which will have profound implications for prenatal diagnosis.
